Finally, the ski season has arrived.

Mt. Hood Meadows and Timberline Ski Area announced that they will begin loading chairlifts on Sunday to provide powder-hungry skiers and snowboarders with the first fresh snow of the season.

Mt. Hood Skibowl thanks "Mother Nature" and "hard work", and also announced plans to open for the ski season on Wednesday.

Timberline will run Bruno's, Pucci, Molly's and Jeff Flood Express chairlifts, which allow you to easily cope with difficult terrain. The ski resort said it would "add more terrain when conditions permit."

Meadows will operate Daisy, Easy Rider and Buttercup chair lifts and ballroom carpets. The lift is suitable for beginners and intermediate terrain.

The resort said at a press conference on Saturday: “Meadows has been harvesting snow to build lift ramps in the base area and expects to open more lifts in the next few days.” “Guests on Sunday may notice. To Mt. Hood Express the elevator is turning-but it is not open to the public. It is being used to transport team members in order to prepare the elevator and terrain for the final opening as early as Monday."

When the storm hit the Cascade Mountains with snowfoot, an opening appeared. Meadows reports that it has 26 inches of snow at the bottom and 27 inches of snow on the mountain.

Timberline reports that the basic depth of its famous cabin is 29 inches. Skibowl's website stated on Saturday that the resort had accumulated 21 inches of snow in the past 48 hours.

Mt. Bachelor in central Oregon announced it will be open on Monday.
