After the boy was found dead at home, the mother in Texas held a $1.5 million bond

On Friday, the mother of an 8-year-old boy and three malnourished siblings were left at their Houston home.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Gloria Williams was arrested last week and charged with harming children through negligence and tampering with evidence. The security deposit for her two charges is $1,550,000.

Prosecutors say Williams' boyfriend, 31-year-old Brian Coulter, has been charged with murder in the death of 8.

The skeletal remains of Williams' 8-year-old son were found on October 24 with three malnourished brothers. They were 7, 9 and 15 years old. The eldest boy at the time called the authorities.

The Sheriff’s Office stated that the teenager reported that the body of his 8-year-old brother — the authorities said he died of “multiple blunt injuries” around November 2020 — was kept in a room next to him.

Authorities said the teenager told the police that his parents had not lived in the apartment for several months. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez described the house as "indescribable living conditions" with dirty carpets, cockroaches and flies. The prosecutor said the apartment was unfurnished.

Williams' lawyer, Neil Davis III, said on Friday that he needed to "learn more" and understand the "mindset" of his clients. When asked if he thinks Williams understands the seriousness of the allegations she is facing, he replied: "I don't think she fully understands, no."

Davis added: "I don't want her to be portrayed the same way on the co-defendant."

Gonzalez said the children were taken to the hospital and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services placed them under emergency surveillance.

Authorities said last week that one of the boys had a jaw injury, allegedly caused by Kurt a few weeks ago, and required surgery.

Kurt and Williams have not yet raised their defenses.
