Skinner’s two sales from the Jim Dixon Collection in May 2022 were the first of five planned sales of his collection. Sales for both the live and online auction reached $1,375,805.

The top lot of the live auction ‘Woven Gardens’ 4 May was a ca. 1600 Ming Imperial Dragon Carpet (lot 50) which, compared with an estimate $200,000-300,000 reached $324,500. Another highlight from the sale included a Northwest Persian or South Caucasian rug (lot 56), which sold for $40,625.

Skinner Auctioneers announced in April 2022 Benjamin Mini as the Director of the company’s Rugs & Carpets department. Mini will also serve as the Regional Director of the auction house for Maine and Northern New England. Benjamin Mini brings over two decades of experience buying and selling rugs, textiles, and other antiques.
