Travel report: Ryanair, London-Zagreb and back

Looking at the photos of the ZAG Wharf, I can't help but wonder if they should replace the tiles with carpets. It looks a bit sterile like this, just like you are in a hospital or something. Dark (or even gray) carpets will create a good contrast. By the way, are the crew members Croats?

Have you used the airport yourself, Nemaja?

No, that's why I wrote this article: Looking at the photos of the ZAG terminal...

I believe the staff is mixed, but not sure. In addition, I prefer the tiles next to the carpet. Which tiles are dirty and difficult to clean, and then you can mess them up.

Carpet sounds like the worst idea ever. Reminds me of American shows in the 90s. Unfortunately, when I visited New York 5 years ago, I found out that Newark Airport still has those... how tasteless

You should travel more. Singapore Changi Airport is the best airport in the world, famous for its carpets, and each terminal has a different design.

Okay, Nemaja, then post your experience when you actually use it as a passenger. thanks.

I flew over ZAG twice and found that it was sterile and it always felt very empty.

Once you add Ryanair’s additional services, Croatia Airlines will be much better and just as cheap, not to mention the bus trip from Stansted to central London.

He did not add any additional fees for Ryanair, so the basic fare is 16 pounds, and the bus to Stansted is 14 pounds. Does Croatia offer a £30 return trip to London?

If you need a bag to bring the celebratory bathtub back, then it might, but for £20 one way, you can bring your backpack and cabin with you. In addition, to reach Heathrow Airport from most parts of London, you still need to pay for the subway or Heathrow Express train. So far, it definitely still beats OU.

When you say much better, I guess you have some indicators that can be used as a basis for your point of view? Otherwise, your comment doesn't make much sense.

Are the fares generally so low? If so, then it's no wonder that BA suspended ZAG in November. I don't think they can compete with it.

Usually they are not so low. Maybe it’s common to see low fares on Zagreb flights now because it is their new base and they are trying to attract new customers, but months have passed, if not, the price will be round trip in the 70s more.

Why do you need ugly uniforms for low cost?

Thank you for the good report. Love your comment on ZAG's confusing experience (employee behavior and food prices) :). Every time I fly over the BEG, I feel the same way. On the other hand, since I also live in London and my parents are in Nis, I am considering taking Ryanair to fly to VIE and then to INI. There will be two separate tickets, but with enough time in between, the return cost is about 60 Euros (January). The only thing that disappoints me is having to land in a third country, which may complicate the bureaucracy related to the new crown virus.

Why not fly LTN-BEG? Or are they unreasonably expensive? In addition, these VIE and ZAG fares will not last, and at some point they will have to increase them. I guess once they drive away the competition.

LTN-BEG is not very expensive, but it means waking up at 2:30 in the morning, then walking through the jungle of Belgrade taxi and bus station to reach Nis, and land at Nis at the same time, it takes 15 minutes, 400 dinars taxi home Is the definition of easy travel :)

E pa ne moze i jare i pare! ))

Luton-Belgrade is actually very expensive. Try Timisoara. Always very cheap and reliable. Reminds me of Maastricht vs Liege. Compared with BEG, TSR is always the cheapest option in London.

I flew from Zagreb to Memmingen last Monday. Like here, tickets are really cheap. I bought another piece of carry-on luggage for 20 euros. I have a feeling that about 90% of passengers do not do this. It is not certain how these airlines survive at such prices and the salaries they pay to their employees.

No more than 50-60%, but the aircraft is quite large.

I am thinking about the same problem. With air tickets so low, I doubt they can even pay for their fuel, not to mention wages, airplane leasing, etc. I am really happy to see ZAG and FR cooperating to provide new routes. I hope this will not only bring tourists, but also some business and investment opportunities into the local economy.

Ryanair really changed everything. I also went home for Christmas for the first time in a year and a half. I am leaving from Copenhagen, but will fly from Malmö to Zagreb with Ryan. The ticket is not that cheap, but it is still very cheap-60 Euros round trip. I just need to cross the bridge from Copenhagen to Malmö. This is about 8 to 10 times cheaper than what I usually pay for the cheapest OU flight.
