When she visited RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve for the first time in 2019, the eyes of Christina Henck's interior designer couldn't help but evaluate the incredible possibilities of this well-known and respected venue.

Fast forward to 2020, and the devastating pandemic brought the entire hotel industry to a halt, including RiverCrest. The Phoenixville Club has long been the wedding venue of choice in Philadelphia, Chester and Montgomery counties, Pennsylvania. When its owners decided to take advantage of their mandatory interruption through renovations, they called Henck Design, a leading interior design company. Their requirement is to transform the key space of the venue by creating a neutral and elegant entertainment area-ideal for hosting weddings and special events.

"My main goal from the beginning was to refurbish to restore the charm and at the same time create a space that attracts a new generation," Henk said.

The first is the bridal suite. Henck decided to reshape the space with a fresh, feminine and romantic aesthetic. This includes brand new finishes, such as wallpapers with stunning metallic patterns, and custom built-in plug-ins, such as a series of makeup mirrors with elegant wall lights on the sides and a full salon bar with soft and delicate toning Slab streamlined chrome-plated stool. Attention to detail will ensure that each bride and her entourage will feel charming and comfortable while being pampered by this latest hair and dressing table.

Henck also softened the bridal suite with custom curtains and frosted windows, allowing natural light to fill the room while ensuring that the space remains private.

By definition, the reception area is a key element of any venue introduction atmosphere, and RiverCrest Golf Club is no exception. Here, Henck blends elegance and neutrality with the custom gold and ivory wallpapers that surround the space, laying the foundation for the rest of RiverCrest's design fun experience. The magnificent fireplace is both a focal point and a gathering place, where guests can meet, communicate and enjoy each other's company. Henck's inspirational choice of paint color, Sherwin Williams' "Storm Cloud", is connected with the adjacent abstract art, and at the same time inspires a comfortable and conversational atmosphere in the private area.

The stylish Phoenixville Country Club is filled with elegant greenery, dozens of eye-catching lamps and tailor-made curtains, each of which was carefully selected by the Henck design team to support the venue’s display—a breathtaking feature. Such as the oversized chandeliers and impressive coffered ceilings in the banquet hall.

One of the most special details of the tall reception area must be a custom-made carpet. This one-of-a-kind floor was planned and developed by Christina Henck, and worked hand in hand with her talented team members to carefully craft it to complement the existing carpet design in the adjacent ballroom and circulation area. "In order to achieve a modern look, I must find a pleasant medium between outdated traditions and anything that is too modern," Henk said. "The addition of transitional design elements like this custom carpet creates a perfect balance to keep this space up-to-date, while also taking into account traditional occasions. The integration of the old to the new is the greatest achievement of our hotel interior design project. "

When wedding parties and revellers walk into the banquet hall, their eyes will fall on the charming fairy-tale touch: traditional woodwork, thoughtful color stories that decorate the walls, and exquisite floor-to-ceiling curtains on both sides. Thanks to Henck's vast imagination.

The Henck design team successfully merged transitional design themes with modern color palettes and completely redesigned furniture. In doing so, they enhanced this hospitality interior design project located in the heart of Philadelphia's most legendary and outstanding suburban landscape.
