Chattanooga, Tennessee, June 30, 2021-Engineered Floors and Mohawk have announced price increases due to increased raw material, labor, and freight costs. 

Engineered Floors increases the price of all basic residential nylon and PET carpets and all EF hard surface products by 6% to 10%. All hard surface products will increase by at least US$0.10 per square foot; shipping costs will increase by US$10.00; and all residential carpet products will increase by US$0.05 per square yard. The price increase will take effect on August 2, and all orders placed before August 2 but not shipped before August 14 will be affected. 

Mohawk has increased the prices of soft surfaces, hard surfaces and cushions for all products by 6% to 10%, and carpets have increased by at least $0.27 per square yard. Some retail styles will also increase by 6% to 10%. In addition, the company will increase the shipping cost of wide-width carpets and carpet tiles by at least US$0.50 per square yard, and the shipping fee for hard surfaces will increase by at least US$10.00. These increases will apply to all orders on or after August 2 and shipments on or after August 14. 

This is the third price increase announcement issued by these companies in 2021.
