Dezeen Promotion: Forbo Flooring Systems, a British flooring manufacturer, stated that it hopes to capture the "simple and minimalist style" of Scandinavian design in its latest carpet tiles.
The flat-weave design called Tessera Struktur 1 has a durable micro-cluster structure and is ideal for areas with heavy traffic.
The company stated that this carpet tile, designed and manufactured in the UK, creates a “balanced atmosphere” in the interior, inspired by the growing trend of Scandinavian design.

The clever texture design has 18 colors to choose from, including neutral tones such as gray and beige, and soft tones of green, yellow, orange, and red to suit various spaces.
The micro-cluster structure is the company's new product, making the design suitable for busy interiors such as office, higher education, retail, leisure and hotel spaces. The micro-tufting manufacturing process means that the yarn can be directly fused to the carpet tile base fabric, using about 50% less yarn than a typical carpet tile.
In addition, Tessera Struktur 1 is made of 100% solution dyed polyamide 6, which has 33 levels of durability and color fastness.
Level 33 means that the carpet has been tested for extensive use and is suitable for areas where there is a lot of traffic and where overflow or soiling is expected.
“Due to its micro-cluster structure, carpet tiles have a unique look and feel, sometimes less is more,” Rand explains. "Tessera Struktur 1 has an acoustic value of 17 dB, which reduces noise transmission and can help architects and interior designers realize their vision of creating a complex and minimalistic environment."
