Mohawk and Engineered Floors announce price increases

Chattanooga, Tennessee, May 3, 2021-Mohawk and Engineered Floors have announced price increases. 

Mohawk increased the price of all soft and hard surface product categories by 5% to 9%, and the carpet increased by at least $0.27 per square yard. In addition, the shipping fee for wide carpets and carpet tiles will increase by at least US$0.03 per square yard, and the shipping fee for hard surfaces will increase by at least US$5.00. These additions will apply to all orders entered on or after May 17 and shipments on or after June 1. 

Engineered Floors announced that it will increase the prices of residential carpets, LVT and main street commercial products starting May 17. The price of carpet products will increase by at least $0.36 per square yard. Any orders placed before the increase date and not shipped before June 1st will also increase. 

These increases are due to the historical highs of raw material prices. According to sources, from November 2020 to April 2021, PVC linear resins increased by 63%, plasticizers increased by 89%, and G/F paste resins increased by 39%. It is expected to continue to increase.
