On Thursday night, Nicholas Cage and his wife Riko Shibata made a rare public appearance.

At the GQ People of the Year party in West Hollywood, California, the couple held hands and posed for a photo on the red (but strictly speaking, black) carpet.

Cage, 57, wore a classic black suit and a matching tie. He added a gray fedora hat to complete his look.

Shibata, 26, wears a traditional kimono and clogs, which are Japanese platform thong sandals.

The annual event honored stars such as Lil Nas X, Tom Holland and NBA MVP Giannis Anteokounmpo.

The newlyweds only appeared at the party nearly a month after they first appeared on the cover of the magazine.

Although they did not discuss their relationship for the "Magic" issue of Flaunt magazine, they did embrace and wear similar costumes in a photo.

"We are doing our thing outside," Cage told Flaunt's editor-in-chief Matthew Bedard a few weeks after filming. "We did something historically significant-filmed and built sand castles in a weather of 117 degrees."

Speaking of unique photos, he added, "I don't think I have done this before. Riko loves it!"

The couple also attended the date night at the premiere of the actor film "Pig" in July.

After Cage and Shibata got engaged in 2020, they tied the knot at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on February 16.

The actors confirmed their wedding in the email sent to today.

"This is true, and we are very happy," he wrote.

Earlier this year, Cage’s representative also told today that the newlyweds first met in Shiga, Japan more than a year ago.

The actor shared their engagement news on Marc Coppola's Q104.3 radio show and revealed that he proposed through FaceTime.
