Dezeen showroom: IVC Commercial’s Rudiments carpet tile pattern evokes the historical style of the natural floor and aims to add warmth to the office environment.
Rudiments' random carpet tile series can be used alone or in combination to create unique interiors.
Each design alludes to past flooring methods, such as fine-textured jute, which is based on hand-woven burlap textiles.
The other is teak, which is inspired by the light and shadow produced by the uneven height of the wooden planks arranged in geometric patterns.
At the same time, the basalt refers to the random organic patterns of volcanic rocks, bringing a bold texture to the room.
The latest members of the series, Clay and Clay Create, have similar designs based on fine-grained soil texture.
IVC Commercial manufactures Rudiments in Belgium and is working to develop a recycling floor method.
